Cristiano Ronaldo's incredible strike in the second leg of Juventus' round of 16 tie against Lyon has beaten Marcel Sabitzer's goal from matchday three to secure the Portuguese yet another accolade.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored both goals in the 2-1 win, after which Juve were eliminated with a 2-2 aggregate scoreline, but it was his second strike that won him the award.

The 35-year-old has now won the prize for the third season in a row after his bicycle-kick strike against Juventus in 2017/18 and his tremendous volley against Manchester United in 2018/19 saw him scoop up the same award.

This time around, Ronaldo beat competition from Sabitzer, Juan Cuadrado, Luis Suarez and Serge Gnabry, who finished behind him in that order.

Other nominees who did not make the top five were Maxwel Cornet, Erling Haaland, Dani Olmo, Lautaro Martinez and Douglas Costa.

UEFA's technical observers will also be announcing their own official top 10 goals of the campaign, while this award was decided by a poll on the website of the governing body of European football.
