Following Leonardo Bonucci's controversial remarks on his Juventus colleague being racially abused, Ivory Coast and Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has slammed the Italian.
The Top Scorers In Europe This Season So Far
Teenager Moise Kean scored in Juve's 2-0 win over Cagliari this past weekend, where he celebrated with his hands to his ears in front of the home fans who had been yelling racist insults towards him and Blaise Matuidi.
After the match, Bonucci caused a stir when he seemed to suggest that Kean was as much to blame as the fans, saying the young Italy international should not have provoked the supporters.
The veteran centre-back has since received a major backlash for his comments, including from other professional footballers and high-profile pundits.
Bonucci has since taken to social media to readdress the situation, insisting that his words have been misunderstood.
Asked about it while speaking on a panel UEFA's Equal Game conference on Wednesday, Toure did not hold back his feelings.
"For me it's a disgrace. You can't do that," he said, according to ESPN.
"It was unbelievable. A teammate, a manager saying: 'You shouldn't have done that' to one of your own players.
"I think it's the worst scenario you can have in football. Your teammate attacking you, saying things like that, is just unbelievable. I can't imagine how hurt he was when he saw that."
