Romelu Lukaku Racially Abused By Italian TV Pundit

Romelu Lukaku

Former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has been targetted with racist abuse by fans since his arrival in the Italian Serie A, but this time it has come from a television pundit, who has since been sacked.

Ronaldo Extends Impressive Record Over Messi

Two weeks ago, in a Serie A match between Inter Milan and Cagliari, monkey chants were aimed at the Belgian striker before he stepped up to score a penalty in his team's 1–0 win away from home.

After Inter's win this weekend over Udinese, a pundit by the name of Luciano Passirani made a horribly racist and controversial remark while strangely praising the forward.

While Passirani said there are not many players like the ex-United man in the country, he claimed there is only one way of stopping him, and that is to give him bananas.

"I don't see any other player in Italy now like Lukaku. I really like him," he said on TopCalcio24.

"The only way to stop him is to say, 'here are ten bananas that you can eat.'"

The TV channel is believed to have sacked Passirani since after immediately suspending the pundit for his comments.

Since his arrival at the club, Lukaku has scored twice in three games and has been backed to challenge for the Serie A Golden Boot award.
