Ronaldo had just led Portugal to only their second international trophy in history when he seemingly turned into "Agent Ronaldo" and was seen chatting to De Ligt after the final whistle.
At the time, the Dutch defender was still heavily linked with a move to FC Barcelona, while Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain were also in the running to secure his services.
However, he ended up opting for Serie A giants Juve, with the move coming roughly five weeks after his brief chat with Ronaldo.
"That could be true, yes," he answered at the time, as quoted by AS, when asked if Ronaldo had told him to join him at Juventus.
"I didn't understand him at first. I was a little shocked, so I laughed, but I didn't say anything."
