Paulo Dybala To Be Axed From Juventus' Uefa Champions League Squad?

Paulo Dybala To Be Axed From Juventus' Uefa Champions League Squad?

Following his failed moves to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Paulo Dybala could now be omitted from Juventus' Uefa Champions League squad ahead of the new season.

Official: Real Unveil New No.7

Uefa requires teams to name no more than 25 players in their European squads, including a minimum of two goalkeepers. Within that group, at least four players have to have been developed at the club, while eight players have to have been produced in the country.

Paulo Dybala does not fall into either category, which manager Maurizio Sarri has admitted is giving the Bianconeri a headache ahead of UCL registration.

"I could talk to him (Dybala), but if the market goes a certain way then what I say counts for nothing, because in the end we need to cut six players," he said, according to Sky Sports.

"This will also depend on who will receive huge market requests, it won't be just a matter of choice.

"Obviously, I would like to keep them all. Our big problem is that we don't have players who grew up in this club. We only have one player who grew up in the club.

"Our Champions League roster will be made of 22 players, with three goalkeepers. This puts us in a difficult position; the market might force us to make choices we might not really want to make."

Dybala was said to be close to joining United and Spurs in this window, but with the English window closing last week Thursday, a move to the Premier League will not happen at this time.
