Following the sacking of Luciano Spalletti on Thursday, Inter Milan have confirmed the appointment of former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The Nerazzurri announced their new appointment on their official website and on Twitter on Friday morning, confirming what many fans anticipated.

Inter have not yet released any information as to the length of Conte's contract, although reports suggest the 49-year-old will sign a three-year deal.
Speaking about his return to Serie A, the Italian said he will strive to show the board they have made the right decision.
"A new chapter in my life is beginning, I'm really excited," Inter's new coach said via the club's website.
"Through my work, I'll try to repay all of the trust that the president and directors have placed in me.
"I have chosen Inter because of the club it is, because of the project's sound basis and how ambitious it is. Because of Inter's history. I was struck by the club's transparency and the desire to bring Inter back to where it belongs."

Conte's last job in Italy was at Juventus, where he won five trophies.
