Juventus Transfer News: Six In, Six Out?

Juventus Transfer News: Six In, Six Out?

Possible signing: Matthijs de Ligt

With the next transfer window fast approaching and Juventus once again falling short in Europe, even with Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, six stars have been heavily linked with the Italian giants, while there are six players who could very well be on their way out.

Although Juve retained the Serie A title this season, many fans have voiced their dissatisfaction with the club's shortcomings in the UEFA Champions League, a competition they were knocked out by a brave but young Ajax Amsterdam side.

The acquisition of Ronaldo was supposed to give the Bianconeri the edge in Europe's biggest club competition, but it has now been questioned whether the team's style of play and philosophy have, in fact, been impacted for the worse.

Casillas on Zidane

With Massimiliano Allegri having left the club this past Friday, the new manager, whomever that might be, is likely to get a chance to build his own squad, but what changes can we expect?

According to Calciomercato, Ajax defender and captain Matthijs de Ligt, 19, is right at the top of their wish list, despite the player being heavily linked with FC Barcelona. The club's board reportedly see the centre-back as the ideal signing, although with his close friend Frenkie de Jong on his way to the Catalan giants, many believe De Ligt will soon follow.

Olympique Lyon's Ferland Mendy is believed to be an option at left-back, while Benfica starlet Joao Felix is another young star the Bianconeri are looking towards. The Portuguese wonderkid is believed to be a big admirer of Ronaldo, who could possibly play a role in convincing the teenager to join the Italian champions.

James Rodriguez is also reportedly among their transfer targets, although that is only likely to materialise if Argentina star Paulo Dybala makes way. The 25-year-old has seemingly lost his status as a key member of the Juve squad, leading to some publications claiming Manchester united are stepping up their interest in him.

Brazil trickster Douglas Costa may very well be on his way out, having played a small role at the club this season. The 28-year-old featured only 25 times across all competitions for the Old Lady in 2018/19, scoring just one goal.

Juan Cuadrado's campaign was similar, with the Colombian managing just one goal in 21 appearances – a few other faces feature, click through the gallery to see them all!
