Juventus have reportedly beaten FC Barcelona and Manchester United in the race for Matthijs de Ligt's signature after the player reportedly agreed a whopping deal to join the Italian giants, with his new salary seemingly also being revealed.

The Dutch centre-back is said to be close to joining the Serie A champions, according to italian journalist Gialnuca Di Marzio.
It has been claimed that De Ligt's agent Mino Raiola has made a breakthrough in discussions with the club, who apparently see the 19-year-old as a long-term replacement for Giorgio Chiellini.
Juventus have reportedly offered the player €8 million (R129 million) a year, plus add-ons, and convinced him to snub interest from Barcelona, United and Paris Saint-Germain.

His whopping salary would see De Ligt become the second highest-paid player at the Bianconeri behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who is earning €30 million (R483 million) per annum in Turin.
It is believed that Juventus are now negotiating with Ajax Amsterdam over a fee for the sought-after defender, with the Dutch side said to be holding out for about €75 million (R1.2 billion).
De Ligt's agent Raiola reportedly also wants a €150 million (R2.4 billion) release clause to be inserted in the player's Juve contract.

De Ligt, who is the youngest Ajax captain in history, has already made 117 first team appearances for the Dutch giants, and helped them lift the domestic double last season, while also playing a starring role in their impressive run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
