The Spanish giants suffered the loss to the Ukrainian side at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, despite the away side missing 13 players who had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Real found themselves 3-0 down by half-time, and although they managed to pull two goals back within 15 minutes after the break, Zidane's side was unable to rescue a point from the tie.
After the match, the Frenchman called for calm before taking full responsibility for the defeat, which was Los Blancos' second in a row.
"We lacked a bit of everything, but above all our confidence, which is the most important thing," he said, according to First Post.
"What is important for us now is to stay calm. It's a bad night and we have to make things better.
"I am responsible. The first half was negative for my team so it's something I haven't done well.
"I'm the coach. I have to find the solution."
