Ronaldo Nazario: The Truth Behind My Party Boy Reputation At Real Madrid

Legendary Brazilian Ronaldo Nazario has revealed the truth about his party boy reputation at Real Madrid.

The former Los Blancos No. 9 enjoyed a phenomenal career despite suffering some major injuries, but while he is remembered as arguably the greatest striker of all time, he also had a reputation for being someone who likes to enjoy himself just as much off the field.

Last November, Ronaldo said his girlfriend is happy he does not party as much as he once did, but he has now claimed his antics were not as bad as many made out.

"It was a wonderful time at Real Madrid and the city of Madrid is the best combination of club and city that you can find," he said on former Real manager Jorge Valdano's show Universo Valdano.

"There is a legend about it all, more than what it really was. Sometimes I maybe partied too much, but it wasn't really like that.

"I've always been very responsible, and I've always tried not to hurt my body. Yes, after winning matches I did like to celebrate... and since we always won, that was a problem!

"But there is much more to the legend than the reality."

Ronaldo spent five years with the Spanish giants, from 2002 to 2007, and won three trophies with the club.
