Spain international Marco Asensio has responded to rumours that rivals Barcelona could be interested in prying him away from Real Madrid amid his uncertain future.
Busquets Makes Huge Barca Decision
Although many players have represented both Spanish giants, only a few have made a direct move from one to the other, with Luis Figo's 2000 transfer from the Blaugrana to Los Blancos among the most controversial.
Asensio, 26, is rumoured to have attracted interest from the Catalan giants in recent weeks amid reports he could be looking for an escape route from the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners, having seen his importance in the side decrease in recent seasons.
Following a bright start to life in the Spanish capital, injuries have forced the attacking midfielder to play a less significant role in the side, although he did score 10 goals in the previous campaign.
This week, it was claimed Xavi Hernandez might be open to luring Asensio away from Real in the near future, and the player has since refused to rule out a potential move to his club's greatest rivals.
"I don't know if Barcelona want me. There are rumours on many clubs, it's normal," he told El Partidazo de COPE.
"I've never thought about a future at Barca, I have not valued it... so, don't know! Right now, I can't answer."
Asensio officially made the switch to Real in 2015 from Mallorca, and has since contributed to 74 goals in 239 appearances for the club, claiming 14 trophies in the process.
