LaLiga Report: Levante vs Real Madrid 04 October 2020

Result: Levante 0-2 Real Madrid

Date: 04 October 2020

Venue: Estadio de la Cerámica

Real Madrid made it three wins in a row after claiming a 2-0 win over Levante in LaLiga action on Sunday afternoon.

Vinicius Junior, who got Madrid out of jail from the bench against Real Valladolid in midweek, started up top alongside Karim Benzema with Luka Jovic shifted to the substitutes' bench.

Los Blancos found the breakthrough on 16 minutes after Vinicius sent a lovely curler past Aitor Fernandez after getting onto a flick-on from Luka Modric' corner-kick.

Levante came close to drawing level following the 31st minute when Nikola Vukcevic clattered against the crossbar after beating Nacho to Jose Campana's delivery en-route to unleash at goal.

The visitors dusted off their nervy spell minutes to halftime and had Benzema shaving the crossbar of Fernandez off good work from Marco Asensio.

Real could've gone two goals up five minutes from the interval when a loose pass from Ruben Vezo freed Benzema who went and struck the outside of the post.

Vinicius was given another glaring opportunity 54 minutes in with good work from Ferland Mendy and Benzema gave the Brazilian a clear opening in the area, but he miskicked wide of the mark.

Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane opted to refresh their initial line-up inside the closing quarter, as Rodrygo and Lucas Vazquez replaced Vinicius and Asensio respectively.

A lengthy review from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) denied Real a second goal in the last 20 minutes after captain Sergio Ramos was caught pushing in the area en-route to heading home.

Real did eventually found a second goal in stoppage time when Benzema raced onto a through ball from the middle to convert with ease to wrap up the win.
