Two African superstars are now valued more than Lionel Messi, while Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped to 42nd position among the world's most valuable footballers.

Football statistics website Transfermarkt regularly updates the values of every player in world football, and it is Kylian Mbappe who is currently at the top of the pile. The Paris Saint-Germain sensation is valued at €200 million (R3.7 billion) – €40 million (R747 million) more than any other player.
His teammate Neymar and Manchester City's Raheem Sterling follow in joint-second place with a value of €160 million (R3 billion) each.

Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, who are each valued at €150 million (R2.8 billion), are the only two Africans in the top 10.
Both of them are now above Lionel Messi in the ranking, with the FC Barcelona captain having a Transfermarkt value of €140 million (R2.6 billion).

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is far outside the top 10. The 35-year-old has fallen down to 42nd position after his value dropped to €75 million (R1.4 billion).
