The International Federation of Football History Statistics (IFFHS) has announced its 10 best footballers of the past decade, picked by its members from 150 countries all over the world.
With Messi and Ronaldo having dominated individual awards such as the Ballon d'Or and FIFA's The Best prize since 2008, it will not surprise anyone that it was the two superstars who battled for the top spot.
However, it was the Argentine who won the title of the IFFHS' World's Best Footballer between 2011 and 2020, with Ronaldo finishing in second spot.
Messi's former teammate Andres Iniesta completes the podium, while current The Best FIFA Men's Player Robert Lewandowski only appears in seventh position.
