Barcelona are reportedly considering selling a high-profile star they signed just last year to facilitate a return for the club's all-time goalscorer Lionel Messi.

According to Madrid-Barcelona.com, the Catalan giants are looking for creative ways to raise funds to re-sign the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.
The Argentine's contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of the season and he has still not reached an agreement over a renewal, as per reports in France.
This leaves Barcelona with the opportunity to move for Messi, although their financial situation will not make it easy.
Several current first-team players are linked with departures at the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign, such as Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati, with Jules Kounde believed to have entered the list of players the club could consider selling.
The Frenchman has played more matches at right-back this season so far than anticipated, perhaps due to the impressive performances of Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen, who arrived as a free agent last year.
Kounde, meanwhile, was signed for €62 million (R1.2 billion) from Sevilla and has not been able to displace Christensen or Ronald Araujo when they have all been fit.

It is therefore claimed that Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona could look to sell the France international for a transfer fee similar to what they paid for his signature, money they believe can help in their attempts to land Messi's signature in the coming months.
