With Manchester United looking to bolster their squad ahead of next season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly identified an African star as one of his main transfer targets.
Ronaldo Nazario Makes Messi Claim
According to the Daily Mirror, United are interested in signing Lille and Ivory Coast attacker Nicolas Pepe.
The 23-year-old is believed to be a target for a number of top clubs across Europe after a season in which he has contributed to 31 goals in Ligue 1, with two games still remaining.
Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are also said to be chasing the breakthrough star's signature, but it has now been claimed United are confident of luring the player to Old Trafford.
Pepe joined Lille in July 2017, and first appeared on the international scene for Ivory Coast in November 2016.
The left-footed star can play anywhere across the attack, with his pace and directness a constant threat to opposition defenders.
Since his debut for Lille two years ago, Pepe has scored 35 goals and assisted a further 17 strikes in 77 matches across all competitions.
