One of Manchester United's senior players has been arrested in Greece for fighting with police who were attempting to a break up an altercation he was involved in.
According to shock reports, Red Devils captain Harry Maguire was taken into custody in the early hours of Friday morning in Greece.
Per the Daily Mail, the 27-year-old was reportedly spotted in a fight outside a bar in Mykonos when police intervened to separate Maguire from the other men.
It is further claimed that the United skipper then tried to fight the policemen verbally and physically, for which he was detained.
Since the incident, the 20-time English champions have released a statement acknowledging they are aware of the reports.
"The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night," the statement on the club's official website read.
"Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities.
"At this time we will be making no further comment."
