According to The Athletic, 29-year-old Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland is scheduled to undergo a medical at the Red Devils on Thursday ahead of a proposed move to the club.
With Martin Dubravka having returned to Newcastle United from his loan deal at Old Trafford, Butland has been identified as a back-up option in goal for Erik ten Hag.
United's interest in the nine-time England international was first reported on Wednesday, with the club having decided to act swiftly to add to their goalkeeping contingent, which currently consists of David de Gea, Tom Heaton and Nathan Bishop.
Butland will reportedly join the 20-time English champions on loan until the end of the season, with his contract at the Eagles set to expire at the same time.
The shot-stopper first made a name for himself during his seven-year stay at Stoke City, for whom he appeared on 168 occasions between 2013 and 2020.
