Man Utd 'Ready' To Terminate First-Team Star's Contract

Manchester United are now reportedly ready to terminate the contract of one their first-team stars.

It was recently reported that United are still looking to get several deals over the line, with as many as 11 potential incomings and outgoings on the cards.

While one of the anticipated departures was Brazilian playmaker Fred, who has since joined Turkish team Fenerbahce, a few more exits are expected to be finalised before deadline day.

According to RMC Sport, the Red Devils have reached an agreement with defender Eric Bailly over the termination of his contract this month that would allow him to leave for free.

The Ivory Coast international has a year remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford, but it is clear he is not part of manager Erik ten Hag's plans, having been omitted from the club's pre-season preparations.

The centre-back arrived at United from Villarreal in 2016 in a deal worth €38 million (R792 million), but failed to establish himself in the club's strongest XI, having made only 113 appearances since, with injuries a notable theme during his underwhelming stint in Manchester to date.

Last season, he was sent out on a season-long loan to Olympique Marseille, but the French side were not interested in retaining his services on a permanent deal.

Premier League side Fulham, and clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia are reportedly interested in swooping the 29-year-old up.
