Reports suggest that Manchester United have come to a conclusion regarding England centre-back Harry Maguire's future at the club.
British Billionaire To Bid For Up-For-Sale Man Utd
This past weekend, the Red Devils continued their winning streak when they beat cross-town rivals Manchester City to close the gap to one point between them in the Premier League standings.
The 2-1 win saw United field a centre-back pairing of Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw, while Maguire was left on the bench.
Three Lions left-back Shaw deputised for 2022 FIFA World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez in the Manchester derby while Maguire failed to start a league game for United for the fifth time in seven games, and according to the Daily Mirror, manager Erik ten Hag is now willing to part ways with the 29-year-old at the end of the season.
The Dutch tactician will likely look to reinvest in the squad when the campaign is over, and should the record Premier League champions secure UEFA Champions League football for next season, there will likely be more money to spend to reconstruct the team.
The same report claims that West Ham United are interested in Maguire's services, and are willing to sign him on loan in this transfer window. The Hammers are exploring options in central defence as the probability of a Craig Dawson departure looks likely.

Having made Maguire the most expensive defender in football history with an €87 million (R1.6 billion) transfer fee in 2019, it is unlikely United will recoup the money they paid for him should he be sold.
The Sheffield native started all of England's World Cup matches in Qatar, but since returning to Old Trafford, has only managed two starts in seven games.
