Man Utd Star Makes 'Toxic' Dressing Room Admission

Scott McTominay has admitted the Manchester United dressing room was once toxic.

A Manchester United first-team regular has made a big admission about the team's dressing room ahead of their UEFA Champions League must-win encounter against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay attended United's pre-match press conference alongside head coach Erik ten Hag on Monday, where he field questions pertaining to the current atmosphere at the club.

The Red Devils go into Tuesday's game on the back of a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League at Old Trafford, needing all three points against Bayern to give themselves a chance of qualifying for the next round of the Champions League.

McTominay insisted the players are all backing Ten Hag amid uncertainty over his future, but also admitted that the dressing room has not always been the best place to be in recent years.

"It is the players' responsibility, first and foremost, the players know that as well," he said, according to the Mirror.

"We have had many amazing players and right now we are at the stage where we have big characters in the dressing room.

"It's not just a case like some of the other managers, where it has been a little bit toxic at times. The boys are firmly behind the manager.

"I've said that in many other interviews and that is the way it will stay. We've got an amazing coaching staff as well, so it can get lost in translation, with what the players think and what is said behind closed doors. But we just want to do well for the football club."

McTominay is United's top goalscorer so far this season with six strikes in 17 appearances across all competitions.

Even if they do beat Thomas Tuchel's side on Tuesday night, the Red Devils also need Copenhagen and Galatasaray to draw in order to advance to the UCL's knockout phase.
