The English winger has not been in a United squad since the third matchweek of this Premier League season, when Nottingham Forest visited Old Trafford.
The London native has been banned from first-team activities by manager Erik ten Hag following comments he made on social media after not being included in the team's match against Arsenal that followed.
A few months later, the club is now reportedly willing to part ways with their €85 million (R1.7 billion) signing permanently.
According to Sport, the Red Devils are aware they will not be able to recoup the funds they spent to bring in the 23-time England international, with Ten Hag believed to have suggested initiating a swap deal with the reigning LALIGA champions for their Brazilian winger, Raphinha.
The 26-year-old had an erratic debut campaign in Catalonia, and has struggled to find consistent form in 2023/24, having been suspended and also injured at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

The same report claims that the decision as to whether or not to complete the deal will lie on the shoulders of Barca sporting director Deco – who is Raphinha's ex-agent – as his opinion is believed to be highly valued in this instance.
