According to The Athletic, the Red Devils could wait as far as the September international break before they make an official statement on the striker.
The club had wanted to undertake this task before their Premier League campaign started against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it has now emerged that Red Devils want to explain the findings of their investigation to key stakeholders, the United advisory board and their women's team before addressing the public.
The club began their investigation into the Bradford native after the United Kingdom's Crown Prosecution Service decided to drop their case of attempted rape, assault and coercive control against him after key witnesses retracted their co-operation.
The same report suggests that some of the club's England players were targeted online by users petitioning for the contingent to allow for Greenwood's return.
Chief executive Richard Arnold is, however, the person believed to have the last word on the matter.

The women's team's opinion will be sought, but it is the "facts established by the club investigation" that will inform what happens next. They will be informed as a collective, however.
