After Paris Saint-Germain signed Neymar from FC Barcelona last season, the French giants are now believed to have declared their interest in another Blaugrana superstar.
Reports: Barca Prepare €50m Move For French Star
According to Sport, Les Parisiens have officially made their interest in midfielder Ivan Rakitic known to Barca.
The Catalan club is yet to receive an offer from the Ligue 1 champions, but PSG reportedly feel the Croatian would add strength and star power to their midfield.
While the French club would be reluctant to meet his release clause of €125 million (R2 million), it is a figure they are believed to be willing to go close to.
Barca do not want to let Rakitic go in this transfer window, but the club will respect his decision if he wants to leave. They are not in a position to offer the midfielder a big wage increase, although they have been working hard at extending his stay in Spain.
It has been claimed the 30-year-old would be tempted to leave Barca if PSG can double his salary, but it has also been said that he would not have any problem staying with the LaLiga champions.
