Former Arsenal and FC Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has landed his first head coach role at one of France's biggest teams.

Henry has been confirmed as the coach of former Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco, following the departure of Leonardo Jardim.
Jardim was relieved of his duties after Monaco slipped to 18th in the Ligue 1 standings before the international break.
The 41-year-old was previously the assistant manager to Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national side.

Henry began his professional football career in 1999, where he 125 appearances, registering 25 goals in the process.
