Ligue 1
Result: Marseille 0-2 Paris Saint-Germain
Date: 28 October 2018
Venue: Orange Vélodrome
Paris Saint-Germain remain the only side in Europe's top five leagues with a 100 percent record following their 2-0 win over Marseille in Ligue 1 on Sunday evening.
Coming into the clash, PSG were held to an entertaining 2-2 draw with Napoli in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Marseille, meanwhile, were looking to get their campaign back on track following back-to-back wins in Ligue 1 recently.
The game got off to a bright start, but the first chance arrived after 22 minutes when Angel di Maria played in Eric Choup-Motinig, who fired wide of the upright.
Marseille managed to carve out a chance ten minutes later when Jordan Amavi's cross found Florian Thauvin, whose flick was palmed away by PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Kevin Strootman came to Marseille's rescue just before the halftime after clearing Angel Di Maria's goal-bound effort off the line.
With PSG struggling to carve out chances, Thomas Tuchel introduced Mbappe for Choup-Moting after the hour mark as they went in search of the opening goal.
The change paid off immediately as Di Maria released Mabppe, who skipped past Amavi before firing past Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda on 65 minutes.
The home side responded with a double change for the final 15 minuets as Valère Germain and Nemanja Radonjic were brought on to help restore the parity.
However, it was PSG who sealed the win in time added on as Julian Draxler found the back of the net, after being set up by Neymar.
