Ligue 1
Result: AS Monaco 0-4 Paris Saint-Germain
Date: 11 November 2018
Venue: Stade Louis II
Edinson Cavani netted a hat-trick to inspire Paris Saint-Germain to a 4-0 thumping of Thierry Henry's AS Monaco in Ligue 1 on Sunday evening.
Thierry Henry was still searching for his first win as Monaco boss after failing to win any of his previous encounters.
It looked to be more pain for Monaco and Henry after just four minutes when Edinson Cavani found the back of the net with a close range, although the goal had to be awarded after consultation with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
VAR came to PSG's aid once again after 12 minutes when Cavani was flagged offside once, but after review, the goal was awarded to the Uruguayan.
The visitors should have pulled a goal back after 26 minutes but Jordi Mboula somehow fired over the crossbar from six-yards out.
Thomas Tuchel's men were in full control for the rest of the half, but they could have extended their advantage four minutes before the break but Moussa Diaby's long range shot was saved by Diego Benaglio.
The third goal eventually arrived eight minutes into the second half, with Cavani completing his hat-trick with a close range finish past Benaglio.
In the 63rd minute, PSG were awarded a penalty after Sidibe was adjudged to have brought down Kylian Mbappe. Neymar took responsibility and made no mistake to increase the lead to 4-0.
VAR was called upon once again, but this time in favour of the home side as Mbappe's strike was flagged offside in the 78th minute.
Tuchel's men managed to see out the remaining stages with relative ease to clinch their 13th straight league win.
