French Ligue 1
Result: Caen 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain
Date: 19 May 2018
Venue: Stade Michel-d'Ornano
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain rounded off the season with a 0-0 draw at Caen, while they also bid farewell to one of their players.
Thiago Motta was handed a start in his final game for the club and he was looking to end on a high.
The visitors went close to breaking the deadlock after just eight minutes as Mbengue rattled the upright from close range.
After a quiet spell in the half, Javier Pastore went close for the home side, although his header was palmed away by Samba.
Thiago Motta, who was playing his final game for PSG, nearly registered the opening goal after 33 minutes but his volley sailed inches wide of the upright.
Caen managed to carve out a couple chances of their own just before the break, although goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was on hand to make crucial saves.
The second half proved to be a quiet affair, with both sides struggling to carve out clear-cut chances.
Motta nearly marked his final game with a goal with 20 minutes remaining, but his header sailed wide of Brice Samba's upright.
Unfortunately, that was the last bit of goal-mouth action in the second half as the two sides settled for a share of the spoils.
