Coupe de France
Result: Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Strasbourg
Date: 23 January 2019
Venue: Parc de Princes
Lebogang Mothiba's Strasbourg were eliminated in the Coupe de France after suffering a 2-0 defeat to a star-studded Paris Saint-Germain outfit.
PSG were looking to avoid any upsets after they were recently knocked out of the League Cup by Lebogang Phiri's Guingamp.
Thomas Tuchel named a strong side for the encounter as Neymar and Casvani were joined in the attack by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, while Mothiba returned to the Strasbourg side.
The hosts got off to the perfect start as Edinson Cavani continued his impressive form by firing home after just four minutes.
PSG pushed for more goals as the half went on, with Angel di Maria and Neymar going close just before the 30-minute mark as Strasbourg struggled to cope.
Cavani went close to doubling their lead five minutes before the break but his point-blank range header was saved by goalkeeper Metz Sels.
Despite the lively start to the second half, Neymar's evening had to come to an end after the hour mark after picking up a knock. He was replaced by Moussa Diaby.
Mothiba also saw his evening cut short after he was replaced by Kevin Lucien on 66 minutes, with the visitors looking to claw their way back into the contest.
However, Di Maria put the result beyond Strasbourg with ten minutes remaining to seal the Ligue 1 champions' spot in the next round.
