The former striker, who was part of Belgium's coaching staff at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, was recently linked with the Aston Villa job, but the Championship club opted to keep current manager Steve Bruce on instead.
Wenger has now suggested that Henry, who is apparently being lined up to take over the Bordeaux job in the coming weeks, will be happy to take over the role from Gus Poyet, who has been suspended by the Ligue 1 side.
"Yes, he (Henry) wants to do it," the Frenchman told Corse-Matin.
"He is intelligent and he has the qualities. The existential question that we always ask ourselves is whether we are ready to sacrifice our life for the coaching profession.
"Being passionate is selfish work. When you are passionate, you steal your time from those whom you love and to whom you could have given much more."
