Real Madrid got back to winning ways in LaLiga after edging past Getafe 1-0 at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Saturday night.

Result: Getafe 0-1 Real Madrid

Date: 08 October 2022

Venue: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez

Karim Benzema was rested for the encounter as Carlo Ancelotti made three changes with Antonio Rudiger, Luka Modric and Federico Valverde coming into the fold.

Benzema's absence had no major effect early on as Los Blancos opened the scoring as early as the fourth minute as Eder Militao nodded home a corner from Modric.

Getafe went close to bagging an equaliser in the 22nd minutes when Carlos Alena picked out Fabrizio Angileri, who took one touch before firing just wide of Andry Lunin's goal.

Los Blancos managed to wrestle back the dominance from the home side and nearly bagged a second goal on 39 minutes when Rodrygo's close-range effort was tipped away by David Soria.

After not finding a second goal in the first half, Ancelotti's men carried that dominance into the second half and went close on 50 minutes as Soria did well to deny Aurelien Tchouameni.

Real had the ball in the back of the net in the 57th minute when Rodrygo fired home from close range with a composed finish, although celebrations were cut short as there was an offside in the build up.

Getafe responded with a double change after the hour mark as Munir El Haddadi and Portu replaced Borja Mayoral and Alena for the final 25 minutes of the game.

Los Blancos, however, remained calm in the closing stages of the encounter and barely gave up any openings to the home side as they held on for their seventh win of the season.
