According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan giants have taken the first steps to ensure the winger stays at the club for the foreseeable future.
The Blaugrana have reportedly offered Dembele a new deal in the hope he decides to extend his stay beyond 2024.

While it only expires next year, the France international's current contract includes a release clause of €50 million (R1 billion) that becomes active at the end of this season.
It is believed the ex-Borussia Dortmund star wants to stay at Barca, with head coach Xavi Hernandez considering him a key member of the first-team squad.

Since his arrival in Spain in 2017, Dembele has contributed to 81 goals in 180 games.
