The Blaugrana are known for utilising an expansive brand of football premised on having a lot of possession.
Despite their insistence on this way of playing, fans have not seen their club seriously contest for major honours in some time, and Lewandowski has now stated that the team must concern themselves with more than just "nice football" if they are to bring trophies back to the Camp Nou.
"I know that the Barca DNA says that we need to play nice football," the Poland international told Barca Magazine.
"But we also need to appreciate that football has changed. For example, the way Barca played 10 years ago might not work anymore. We have to adapt to football and demonstrate the best that we have."

The 34-year-old hitman has scored 25 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions to date for the five-time European champions, and while he is getting older, the Warsaw native believes he can help the club win more trophies for many years to come.
"I don't think about how many years I will be at Barca," he added.
"I still think I can play a few more years at a high level, but I don't know how many.
