With Sergio Busquets confirmed to be leaving Barcelona in June, it seems the man to replace him as first-team captain has already been picked.

On Wednesday, it was announced by the Spanish giants that the veteran midfielder has decided this season will be his last at the club.
Busquets has been a first XI regular since Pep Guardiola promoted him to the senior set-up as a youngster in 2008, helping the Catalan giants claim eight LaLiga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies.
The 34-year-old, however, leaves behind him the armband after he succeeded Lionel Messi as the team's leader in 2021, although Sport suggests that his replacement as skipper is almost certain.
According to the Spanish publication, versatile midfielder Sergi Roberto is likely to be named captain after he renewed his deal for another season earlier in this campaign.
The report points out that Barcelona have always been a club that "respects hierarchies", with Roberto having been in the first team for a decade.
The 31-year-old is currently a part of the squad's leadership group, along with Busquets, left-back Jordi Alba and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

If Alba decides to continue at Barcelona beyond this season, he will likely become the team's vice-captain.
