Barcelona striker Memphis Depay has been linked with a surprise swap deal involving another footballer playing at a top club in LaLiga.
International Star 'Decides' To Leave Barcelona
The Dutch forward has struggled for regular game time under Xavi Hernandez at the Catalan club this season, having made just four appearances across all competitions.
Depay, 28, joined the Blaugrana as a free agent in July 2021 after deciding not to extend his contract at Olympique Lyon in France, where he impressed following a difficult spell at Manchester United.
His situation has left him open to departing Barcelona in this transfer window, as reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Rumours in Spain suggest that the Netherlands international would be interested in joining LaLiga rivals Atletico Madrid, with Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco potentially set to be included in a swap deal for the Dutchman.
The 29-year-old Belgium star, according to his agent Pini Zahavi, is excited at the idea of taking his career to the Camp Nou.
Yannick Carrasco's agent Pini Zahavi: "The plan is to swap Ferreira Carrasco for Memphis Depay. It's not concrete yet and I don't know if it will happen", told @PJCalcoen ???? #FCB #Atléti"Negotiations are ongoing and we're talking. Yannick likes this idea [to join Barça]". pic.twitter.com/b8Pyks8HHj
