According to The Times, the Blaugrana are reportedly interested in making Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes their marquee signing of the upcoming transfer window with a €100 million (R2.1 billion) bid.
After 18 years in Catalonia, Busquets will be bidding farewell to the club at the end of the season, and with the five-time European champions looking for an adequate replacement for the Spaniard, it seems the newly-crowned champions of LaLiga have decided on the Brazilian to succeed the club captain.
Guimaraes arrived at St. James' Park at the beginning of 2022 and has played a crucial role in helping the Magpies go from fighting relegation to qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in more than 20 years.
While the 25-year-old has been an integral part of Eddie Howe's side, the same report claims that the Geordie outfit would be willing to sell him if a massive offer were to arrive, in a bid to reinforce their squad ahead of their return to Europe's premier club competition.

Barca could reportedly face stiff competition for Guimaraes' signature from Paris Saint-Germain, who are also believed to be interested in the Brazil international.
