Ex-Man City Coach Slams Pep's Behaviour

A former Manchester City manager has criticised Pep Guardiola for his antics on the touchline during his side's 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal.

The Citizens moved to within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal with two games in hand after their rampant display on Wednesday night.

However, it was Guardiola's behaviour that caught the eye of former City manager Stuart Pearce.

"Michael Oliver, he initially said play on and then he decided that he was going to pull the whistle out of his pocket and blow it," Pearce told talkSPORT.

"Pep Guardiola is going absolutely crazy, he is losing his head. He's almost on the pitch, he's being restrained by Craig Pawson. He's going absolutely mad."

"I don't know what Pep is doing down there.

"He's striking out. He's pushed the fourth official away from him. He really needs to calm down a little bit."

"Only he knows if he's out of control or not. I've never seen him as over-the-top as this.

"I've seen other managers but from his point of view I think he gets caught up in the game."
