At the beginning of 2025, the 51-year-old will officially take the reins of the English national team, becoming the third foreigner in the nation's history to do so.

With his appointment comes the opportunity for players who were "forgotten" under Gareth Southgate to potentially be reintegrated into the set-up of the 2024 UEFA European Championship runners-up.

One of the stars hoping this is true will be Greenwood. The versatile attacker has made only one appearance for the 1966 FIFA World Cup winners, which came in 2020 when he was 19 years old.

After falling out with Southgate over breaking COVID-19 protocols, the attacker was not selected by the Watford native again.

The situation was made even worse when he was charged with attempted rape, assault and coercive behaviour in January 2022, seeing him eventually miss out on 18 months of football.

Those charges, however, were dropped and the Manchester United academy graduate has since returned to football.

Now at Olympique Marseille, Greenwood has been in fine form, scoring six goals and providing two assists in his first eight matches in Ligue 1.

His international future has been up in the air for some time, but according to The Sun, Greenwood wants to gauge whether he has a future with England under Tuchel and, as a consequence, wants to talk to the German tactician regarding a potential return.

Should the Football Association and Tuchel decide against recalling the Bradford native, it is believed the prolific winger will switch his international allegiance to the Jamaican national team.
