It is not every day that you come across a footballer, especially at the highest level, who is not completely immersed in the beautiful game.
Well, that is the case for Gunners right-back Ben White, and the 27-year-old has stirred a lot of controversy for his stance on football.
He did allude to not being passionate about the sport earlier in his tenure with the north Londoners, and caused even more controversy when he decided to leave the England camp during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, subsequently never returning to represent his national team despite his good form for club, but has now doubled down on his sentiment.
Speaking to former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster, White admitted that he does not care much for football outside of it being his profession.
"Do I hate football? No, of course I don't hate it. Obviously, I don't watch it. There were things I said that caused a lot of commotion," White revealed to Foster while speaking to Amazon Prime Sport.
"I don't think it's such an important issue that I don't like watching games. Of course, I have to train, watch videos, you have to be attentive every day. But when I get home, I just want to forget about everything.
