Juventus legend Andrea Pirlo has revealed why he thinks his former club was right to sell superstar Paul Pogba to Manchester United this season.
Ibrahimovic Hits Out At Pogba's 'Jealous' Critics
The Frenchman, who has come under heavy criticism lately, rejoined the Old Trafford club in August for a world record fee of £89 million (R1.6 billion).
Pogba's former teammate Pirlo believes the sale of the 23-year-old enabled the club to sign the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic and Dani Alves, strengthening the Bianconeri's squad in a big way.
"Selling Pogba? It was the right choice, when you look at the players who came in," Pirlo told Sky Italia.
"After such a great transfer window, I think Juventus are now built to win everything.
"Looking from the outside, the Italian championship isn't that bad, but the transfer market showed that Juve are above everyone.
"It's like the French league. Juve are in a separate competition – at least, that's what the transfer window suggested. They're like PSG."
Reports: Chelsea Star Set To Leave In January
Pogba has made three appearances for the English giants so far this season, but is yet to register a goal or an assist.
