Bayern Munich could reportedly be prepared to sell Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season.
Although Lewandowski's contract only concludes at the end of June 2023, there is a massive appetite from the Bavarians to extend the Pole's current deal as soon as possible.
Should he reject the offer to extend, though, the club is reportedly willing to sell their star striker at the end of this season.
According to Bild, Bayern could offer Lewandowski a one-year extension should he wish to remain on his same wages or a two-year deal if he is open to taking a pay cut.
The Poland striker, who received The Best FIFA Men's Player 2021 award on Monday, would garner attention from Europe's most elite footballing institutions if he becomes available.
Marca reports that Bayern directors Oliver Kahn, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Hasan Salihamidzic are all looking for a quick resolution to this debacle. With Erling Haaland being the main target should the departure of Lewandowski become imminent at the end of the campaign, the Bayern hierarchy would want to move swiftly.
Following Monday's award ceremony, Lewandowski emphasised that he was not stressed about his contract situation.
"When you show your performance on the pitch, it doesn't matter whether you play in team A, B or C," he said.
"In the end, I have to stay focused and do my best. That's always first on my mind. I'm an experienced player and hide everything else.
"There is still enough time. I stay patient and calm, and don't stress."
