Germany coach Joachim Low, who has stayed in charge of Die Mannschaft despite their horrendous 2018 FIFA World Cup showing, has now announced his first squad since the tournament, and once again snubbed several big-name players.

The 58-year-old has been backed by the German FA to rectify the mistakes made in Germany's group-stage exit from Russia 2018, and he has somewhat reshuffled his squad.
Germany will face new world champions France in the newly-formed UEFA Nations League on 6 September, before hosting Peru in a friendly.
Low has recalled Leroy Sane after the Manchester City winger was left out his final World cup squad, while Kai Havertz, Thilo Kherer and Nico Schulz are new faces in the squad.

With Germany having won only two out of their past nine games, Low's team also became the first ever German side to not make it out of the group stage of a World Cup after their showing in Russia. As a consequence, the 2014 World Cup winners dropped from first to 15th spot in the latest FIFA rankings.
