Bayer Leverkusen registered a third straight Bundesliga victory after defeating Augsburg 2-0 at Bay Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Moussa Diaby and Nadiem Amiri netted in either half to secure the three points for Bayer.
As a rsult, Leverkusen moved up to fifth on the table while Augsburg are unchanged in 11th spot.
Bayer will next be in action on Sunday away to title-chasing RB Leipzig while Augsburg will host Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
Wolfsburg boosted their top-six aspirations with a 4-0 thrashing of Mainz at Volkswagen Arena on Sunday evening
Josip Brekalo and Yannick Gerhardt both found the back of the net while Renato Steffen's bagged a brace for the home side.
The win sees Wolfsburg move up to seventh on the table while Mainz dropped to 15th, just two points above the relegation play-off spot.
Wolfsburg will turn their attention back to the UEFA Europa League next Thursday when they visit Swedish side Malmo in the round of 32 second-leg, holding a 2-1 lead from the first-leg.
