Bundesliga Wrap: Bayern Munich Set Impressive Record With 4-0 Thrashing

Bayern Munich restored their six-point lead over Borussia Dortmund after thrashing Koln 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the Bavarians after just nine minutes, which saw the club set a new league record of scoring in 66 consecutive games.

The lead was doubled in the 25th minute as Thomas Muller turned provider once again to pick out Corentine Tolisso, who fired past Marvin Schwabe.

Lewandowski took over in the second half and bagged another two goals to complete his hat-trick, while also bringing up his 300th league goal.

RB Leipzig made it back-to-back wins this year with a 2-0 triumph over Stuttgart at the Mercedes Benz Arena.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 11th minute, with Andre Silva bagging his eighth goal of the campaign from the penalty spot before Christopher Nkunku doubled the lead on 70 minutes.

Wolfsburg remain without a win in 2022 after playing to a goalless draw with Hertha Berlino on Saturday afternoon.

Union Berlin rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim at Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

An own goal from Timo Baumgartl put Berlin ahead in the 16th minute, but Hoffenheim were back on level terms thanks to Andreas Voglsammer's strike six minutes later.

The hosts got the winning goal with 17 minutes left of the second half thanks to Grischa Promel's fourth goal of the season.

The visitors had the chance to take the lead on 32 minutes from the penalty spot, but Sebastian Polter was unable to convert from 12-years out.

Mainz went on to get the game's only goal three minutes after the halftime break via Jeremiah St. Juste.
