Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to four points after beating Augsburg 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Bavarians were unchanged from their thrashing of Hoffenheim, with young striker Joshua Zirkzee trusted to lead the attack once again in the absence of the injured striker Robert Lewandowski.
Augsburg were positive in the early exchanges, going forward at every opportunity but they could not yet penetrate the Bayern defence.
Hans-Dieter Flick's charges were building momentum towards the half-hour mark but they too were not creating clear chances and were yet to test the visitors' shot-stopper Andreas Luthe.
However, Bayern had a glorious chance to break the deadlock with two minutes left of the first stanza after Serge Gnabry chipped a delightful ball towards the box but Thomas Muller dragged his volley over the bar.
The hosts had a good start in the second stanza as Muller eventually broke the deadlock eight minutes from the break with a left-footed volley past Luthe after through ball over the defence by Jerome Boateng
Flick's troops were finding their rhythm going forward and Zirkzee had a chance to double the lead in the 65th minute after being teed up by Muller at the near post but his strike was saved by Luthe.
Zirkzee kept Augsburg in the game four minutes later with another brilliant save to parry away Coutinho's first-time strike from Gnabry's square pass.
Florian Niederlechner had a great chance to level matters for Augsburg in the last 12 minutes after receiving a square pass close to Manuel Neuer but the German shot-stopper preserved Bayer's lead with point-blank save and Niederlechner wasted the rebound, guiding it wide.
Leon Goretzka sealed the three points for Bayern with the second goal early in stoppage time after guiding a low strike to the far post following his exchange of passes with Gnabry as the Bavarians went four points clear at the top of the log.
