A 19-year-old goalscoring machine, who has netted more times than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have this season, has been tipped to take over the mantle from the two ageing superstars.
Erling Haaland has already scored 40 goals across all competitions in this campaign, with Ronaldo sitting on 25 goals and Messi on 24.
There is a lot of hype around the Borussia Dortmund wonderkid as a result of his scoring prowess this season, and former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes he can live up to the billing.
"He is such an exciting prospect and, for me, there is a fair chance that he can be the successor to Messi and Ronaldo. Not only him, but I also like (Kylian) Mbappe as well, he just makes fun of defenders," Berbatov wrote in a column for Betfair.

"We need to hold our breath, hope these players stay healthy and continue to develop so that we can watch them for as long as possible at the top level."
Mbappe has 30 goals to his name so far this season, and finished in second place, behind only Messi, in last season's European Golden Shoe race.
Haaland, meanwhile, has scored 12 goals since joining Dortmund in January, and registered another 28 for Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of the campaign.
