The South African tactician will take charge of his first official match as head coach of the Red Castle when his side go up against MAS Fes on Friday night.
It has been an active off-season for the record Moroccan champions as not only have they appointed the 37-year-old following his exit from Mamelodi Sundowns, but they have also made Hicham Ait Menna their newest president, and working alongside one another, the new Wydad chief and Mokwena have brought in many new players too.
There were reservations about the club's transfer dealings as they had a FIFA transfer ban hovering over their heads, but those issues have now been resolved, and many of the club's newest acquisitions have been registered and included in Mokwena's squad for their first match of the 2024/25 campaign.

Last season, the Casablanca-based outfit suffered their worst league finish in a decade when they ended the campaign in sixth position, and as a consequence, did not qualify for continental competition.
Mokwena will no doubt be looking to help the north African side return to the top of domestic football, and that journey will begin against MAS Fes.
