It seems the record Botola Pro Inwi champions are giving themselves the best opportunity to make an impression at the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup slated to commence just under a year from now.

The Casablanca-based side is one of four African clubs that have qualified for the global showpiece in the United States of America at the end of next season, and it looks as though they want to make a significant impact at the tournament.

It is because of this that the north African giants have now been linked with the likes of Balotelli and Rodriguez.

The former is an Inter Milan and Manchester City star who has won the UEFA Champions League with the Nerazzurri, while the latter has played for the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and has just come off a Copa America final berth with his native Colombia.

According to WinWin, the Red Castle are currently in negotiations with each player's representative as they assess the economic viability of signing both or either star should they agree on a move to Wydad.

Mokwena's new side are hoping the lure of potentially playing in the Club World Cup will tempt each party, but the same report states that Wydad is finding it difficult to pay off the debts accumulated by the club's previous administration, and this could be a stumbling block regarding the potential acquisitions of Rodriguez and Balotelli.

The Italian is currently without a club and is likelier to sign with the three-time African champions, while Rodriguez is still contracted by Sao Paulo in Brazil, but has been linked with a move away from the South American giants following his exploits with his national team this past off-season.
