Ex-Pirates Star Gets Huge Reward In Europe

Ex-Orlando Pirates midfielder Marshall Munetsi has been rewarded in Europe.

A former Orlando Pirates midfielder has been handed a huge reward for his efforts at the European club he plays for.

As confirmed on Stade Reims' official website, Zimbabwe international Marshall Munetsi will be part of the club's leadership group for the 2024/25 season.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed an impressive five-year spell in France since his departure from Pirates, and is considered among his team's senior players as he prepares to enter his sixth campaign at Reims. 

His teammate Teddy Teuma has officially been appointed as the team's captain, with Munetsi joining Emmanuel Agbadou and Yehvann Diouf as part of the vice-captaincy group.

"Teddy Teuma, a leader by word, now becomes one by his status. With a core of experienced players around him, he will be able to guide the team effectively," a statement from the club reads. 

"Marshall Munetsi, recognised for his key role in the integration of young people and the cohesion of the group, will continue to occupy a central place in the SDR locker room.

"Emmanuel Agbadou and Yehvann Diouf assert themselves, for their part, as new pillars of the collective."

Munetsi has amassed 137 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit since his arrival in 2019, contributing to 25 goals across all competitions.
