Following Bafana Bafana's loss to Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, fans on social media have concluded that Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi may have had a superstitious "hand" in South Africa's loss. Check it out!
With South Africa succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to the Super Eagles earlier this work, footage of Akpeyi seemingly completing a pre-match superstition began making the rounds on social media.
In the video, Akpeyi is seen running over to the officials who were conducting the coin toss and picked up the ball before doing a "check" of sorts that caught the eye of the public.
Fans thus came to their own conclusions, with some even claiming he used muti to help his national side defeat coach Stuart Baxter's men.
